Web links and associated resources on this site are intended to help inform students, parents, family members, and the community at large about important issues affecting our students and their families. These resources can provide information about issues such as ATODA, depression, grief, suicide, as well as positive coping strategies to deal with such issues.

If you or someone you know is experiencing problems and needs help, please tell someone who can help ASAP. You are encouraged to seek out assistance from a family physician, member of your clergy or other trusted adult. Grafton school counselors, psychologists, administrators, and teachers are also excellent resources for support and direction about important issues affecting student’s lives.

Volunteer/Community Service

Students are encouraged to involve themselves in some volunteer/community service activities as they prepare for life beyond high school because admissions officers and employers are increasingly placing a larger emphasis on community service work when evaluating applicants. Head to Community Service Opportunities in CANVAS to learn about the different opportunities available to you. Community service hours should be logged in Xello.

Summer Opportunities

This document is a list of various summer academic and enrichment programs for high school students, primarily offered by colleges and universities across the country. It provides a selection of opportunities in diverse fields like STEM, journalism, leadership, and liberal arts, with a brief description of each program. Work Permits

The Department of Workforce Development's Equal Rights Division has developed a new online work permit application tool. To request a work permit, please visit the Department of Workforce Development for instructions and learn how to obtain and complete an application. Payment is made directly to the Department through the application. Once the permit application process is complete, the Department mails a paper copy of the permit directly to the employer.

In addition, the DWD has reorganized its employment of minors' web pages. The information you need is linked at the bottom of the site, including a guide to hazardous and prohibited work, the hours and times of day restrictions for minors, and links to the appropriate statutes and codes.
