Practice schedules are set by each coach of each sport.
The practice schedule, when finalized, will be given to each student-athlete by their respective coach.
Practices are typically held after school until approximately 4:30pm, but usually no later than 5:00pm
Practices are typically held on days that school is in session. Some coaches will choose to practice on days that school isn't in session (after teacher work days, over the Christmas break, Spring Break, ect.)
Most contest start by 3:45pm. Check the game schedule for specific start times.
For home contests, athletes stay after school as most sporting events start by 3:45pm. Basketball is the only activity that has 7th Grade starting prior to 8th Grade.
For away contests, athletes will be transported to the away event by Riteway bus service. Riteway will also bring the team back to JLMS at the end of the event. If you prefer to take your son/daughter home with you, a "Transportation Approval Form" must be turned into the coach.
The most common overlap is Cross Country / Girls Basketball and Cheerleading / Dance Team - coaches will work with each individual student in order to accomplish this.
For Boys Basketball / Wrestling, this task becomes very difficult. The coaches expect their student-athletes to be at practice because of the material that is taught & learned. A commitment to either Basketball or Wrestling is advised.
