John Long Middle School offers the opportunity for all 7th & 8th grade boys to participate in interscholastic basketball.  The season starts with practices beginning in November.  All players will go through a selection and evaluation process. The boys play a 12-16 competitive game schedule through early February.  Emphasis is on fundamentals, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Our Conference is comprised of Cedarburg (Webster Middle School), Port Washington (Thomas Jefferson Middle School), Mequon (Lakeshore Middle School and Steffen Middle School), Brown Deer (Brown Deer Middle School), and Whitefish Bay Middle School.  Games will also be played against schools in the other side of the Conference (Germantown, Templeton, West Bend, Slinger, Menomonee Falls).

Track is open to any 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. Students will participate in approximately 6-8 meets during the season.  The season begins in March and runs through the end of May. Conference Team Relays and Conference Individual Championships highlight the end of the season.  Emphasis is on fundamentals, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

Practices are held at John Long and occasionally at Grafton High School with the high school wrestling team. The team has a competitive meet schedule through the end of January. Emphasis is on fundamentals, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Our Conference is comprised of Cedarburg (Webster Transitional School), Port Washington (Thomas Jefferson Middle School), Mequon (Lakeshore Middle School and Steffen Middle School), and Whitefish Bay Middle School. In addition, meets will also be held against Menomonee Falls (Menomonee Falls Junior High School), Germantown (Kennedy Middle School) , Sussex (Templeton Middle School), West Bend (Badger Middle School), and Slinger.
