Financial Aid
Regardless of your income, all families should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) annually because all federal financial aid and most state and institutional aid require the FAFSA. It's easy to complete.
Go to fafsa.ed.gov anytime after October 1 to apply for the upcoming academic year. Here are some resources to help you get started:

Scholarships
FREE MONEY? Yes please! November is national scholarship month - an ideal time to begin researching which scholarships you want to apply for. If you haven’t started already, apply for as many scholarships as you can. Scholarships are awarded on various criteria that reflect the values of the donor or founder, and the money doesn’t have to be repaid = FREE. Below is a list of where to start looking for scholarships… so what are you waiting for?
Scholarships received by the counseling office are posted in Naviance Student.
1. Log into your Naviance account
2. Click on the "Colleges" tab
3. Scroll down to "Scholarship & Money"
4. Scholarship List

- Local scholarships become available for seniors through the GHS Counseling Office in February. Please see Mrs. Rieck in the Counseling Office with questions.
- Check with your parent(s)/guardian(s)’ employers
- Specific Colleges/Universities offer their own scholarships too - your admissions application often doubles as a scholarship application! Just be sure to check if they are requesting additional paperwork for a particular scholarship and PAY ATTENTION TO DEADLINES!
- National scholarships are available to all. Some national scholarship search engines include, but are not limited to:
- Scholarships.com
- CollegeBoard
- FastWeb
- UNIGO
- Super College
- Peterson's
- Student Scholarships
- College Scholarships
- Scholarship America
- CollegeExpress
- College Goal WI
- Regularly check the board in the hallway outside of the School Counseling Office (and see your counselor with questions)
- To the best of our knowledge, these websites provide free scholarship searches and applications. We do not endorse any scholarship or processes that require students to pay a fee.
