Hello! My name is Katie Martinez-Ortiz and I am the school psychologist at Grafton High School. Additionally, I complete special education evaluations for students attending parochial schools within Grafton. I have had the pleasure of working in the Grafton School District since 2022. Before joining the Grafton School District, I worked as a school psychologist in the Burlington Area School District where I served as a school psychologist at the middle and elementary levels.
I completed by Bachelor's degree in Psychology at UW-LaCrosse and my Master's and Educational Specialist Degrees at UW-Milwaukee.
Within the Grafton School District I aim to meet the needs of every student so that all students can be college and career ready life long learners. As the school psychologist, I assess and supports students learning and academic needs, as well as their social/emotional functioning and mental wellness. It is my goal to create a safe and positive school environment that is inclusive of all students. I believe that positive relationships as well as collaboration and communication among school staff, families, and other important people in a child's life are key to supporting the positive development of the whole child.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband, our family, friends, and our dog who always keeps us on our toes! This July, my husband and I welcomed a new addition to our family, our daughter. We couldn't be more thrilled! Personally, I enjoy being active outside, going to Packer and Bucks games, trying out new restaurants around the Milwaukee area, practicing yoga and traveling.
