My name is Claire Butler and I joined Grafton High School fall of 2022. I was born and raised in Rockford, IL. I received my undergraduate degrees from UW-Milwaukee and my Masters in Art Education from Eastern Illinois University. I previously taught all different types of art courses at my alma mater. I am an artist and educator, but I am also a family person who has a great passion for all animals, especially my family dogs, a love of nature, and a love of being goofy and genuinely myself. My favorite form of art is any type of painting, from acrylic to watercolor.

It is important to me to provide an environment for students to feel safe and to approach the world around them with an open mind. I hope to inspire my students to become forward thinkers, researchers, and respectful young adults. I love to focus on how teaching art can help students become creative problem solvers that will be able to contribute positively to the community that they are a part of.
