4K Email Phone: 262 376-5753 Hello! My name is Sarah Breitlow, and I have been teaching here at Woodview Elementary School since 2003. For the first 13 years I taught 5K. In 2016, I made the switch to 4K and loved it! I graduated from UW-Madison in 2002 and earned my masters from UW-LaCrosse in 2007. In 2015, I was awarded the Herb Kohl Educational Fellowship for my work in promoting literacy with kindergarten students here at Woodview. I am very passionate about being an early childhood educator and the importance of play in the education of young children. Through play and hands-on exploration children can learn about the world around them. 4K is just the start to each child's educational path. My goal for each child is to instill a life-long love of learning. I strive to create a classroom environment that is nurturing, supportive, and encouraging while creating opportunities for children to learn through exploration and play. Children are natural learners and through play they learn about the world around them. I will provide a safe, positive learning environment for your child and teach them about problem-solving, caring for each other, and taking responsibility for their own actions. My goal is for your child to feel welcomed, safe, and included in the classroom. I want your child to feel excited about coming to school! I am really looking forward to getting to know your child and your family better throughout the year. It's going to be a wonderful 4K year! I come from a family of educators. My maternal grandmother was a kindergarten teacher for the Milwaukee Public Schools and there are several items in my classroom that she passed down to me when I graduated from UW Madison and became a kindergarten teacher. I am the oldest of 5 children and have two siblings who are also teachers. I live in Wauwatosa with my husband and two daughters. In addition to teaching, I love spending time with my extended family, Wisconsin sports teams, shopping, reading, watching TV, and running.
