My Website
Hi! I grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin & then attended UW-La Crosse and earned my teaching degree in 1996. In 1994, I had the opportunity to study in Valladolid, Spain for a semester while living with a Spanish family. Upon graduation, I got married to my high school sweetheart & moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where he & I taught together at a high school for a few years & I taught Spanish 1 & 2. My final year in Michigan I taught Kindergarten thru 6th grade Spanish in Lapeer before we moved back to Wisconsin to be closer to family. I worked part-time at Webster in Cedarburg & eventually added a part-time position in Grafton to make a full time job between the two districts. Shortly afterwards I became full time in Grafton. I have been teaching in Grafton since 2001. During my time here I have taught Spanish 1 at GHS, and 6th (for the few years that it was offered), 7th, and 8th grade Spanish at John Long Middle School. This year I will also have a section of Spanish 2! I earned my Master's Degree in 2008 from UW-La Crosse and my high school certification through edu-CATE Wisconsin's Ed-Cert Program. I am also the Ski/Snowboard Club advisor. We have two adult sons with growing families! We enjoy camping around the country in our hard sided pop-up trailer looking for great hikes or relaxing on a beach. I also love to bike, read and scrapbook.
I love your kids and am happy to have them in my classroom! My goal is to create a safe and respectful atmosphere which encourages young people to be excited and increasingly comfortable using the Spanish language. My community of learners will be actively engaged through the use of creative instructional strategies.
