After graduating from UWSP in 2001 I spent two years as a cell biologist in the biotech industry in Madison. In 2003 I started work on a master of science teaching degree from UWM. Upon completion, I began teaching in the Grafton School District in 2005 at John Long Middle School as the 8th grade physical science teacher. In 2011, I transitioned to the high school to teach AP Biology and chemistry. In addition, I have taught basic chemistry, basic biology, and college prep biology. I currently teach AP Biology, AP Environmental science, and freshman biology.

I believe in science instruction through inquiry experiences that the students engage in. Along with collaboration and discussion, this creates an engaging environment for all to learn.
