The Grafton School District offers a comprehensive and confidential screening tool to help guide and keep track of your child’s growth and development between the ages of 3 and 5. Although we encourage all preschool aged children to be screened, it is important for future 4K students to be screened prior to starting school in the fall. This important screener will help teachers get to know students and plan for their learning.
Children develop skills and reach milestones at their own pace. How is your child doing? We encourage you to take 10–20 minutes to check with the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, Third Edition™ (ASQ-3) and 10 minutes with the Ages & Stages Social Emotional Questionnaire. Based on your responses, your results will help you see if your child’s developmental progress is on time and alert you to any potential concerns. Your questionnaire will be scored and the results will be mailed to you. If the results indicate concerns you will be personally contacted and given activities you can do at home. Families will be offered a free comprehensive evaluation to determine if additional services are warranted through the school district. Evidence shows that early intervention is key and the sooner you address a developmental delay or special need, the better chances your child has of long-term success.
